The results of this study of the interobserver reliability of the two most commonly used classification systems for fractures of the pelvic ring indicate that the Young–Burgess system may be best for less experienced surgeons, whereas the Tile classification system may be more beneficial for pelvic/acetabular specialists. Computed tomography scans should be used in addition to the classification systems as they provide useful information on anatomical featuresof injury.
