Treatment of Chronic Tennis Elbow with Platelet-Rich Plasma

Rogerio Teixeira Silva

This case study concerns a new treatment for chronic lateral epicondylitis, a common condition in sports participants, particularly tennis players. A 46-year-old amateur tennis player was treated with autologous platelet-rich plasma to promote healing of a chronic tendinopathy. The main goals of the case study are to present a new option for sports medicine physicians that can solve a difficult problem seen in the clinic, and to stimulate discussion about future treatments in regenerative medicine.
