Cyclosporine is an immunosuppressant that is widely used in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis. However, one of the most common side-effects of this treatment is hypertension. It is therefore crucial that the range of increases in blood pressure that can occur following treatment with cyclosporine is known to enable adequate management of patients who are receiving the drug. Robert and co-authors carried out the current study to determine the effect of cyclosporine on blood pressure.
