Incidence studies of psoriasis are rare. Therefore, there is sparse knowledge regarding possible changes in the incidence of psoriasis over time. The purpose of the present study was to determine time trends in the incidence and survival of patients with psoriasis during three decades from 1970 to 2000 in Olmsted County, Minnesota (MN, USA).Two studies have previously reported on the incidence of psoriasis in Olmstead County, Minnesota (MN, USA) [1,2]. These determined the incidence in different populations and also over varying time periods between 1980 and 1997. Although these data are difficult to compare, they suggested an increase in the incidence of psoriasis over time.
