Editor’s note: Due to the problems associated with congenital heart disease (CHD) and its treatment, it is perhaps surprising that there is not a greater incidence of psychosocial morbidity in adulthood in patients with this disorder. Previous studies have reported a variable and relatively minor impact in this regard. This study from the Adult CHD Program in Toronto, ON, Canada, specifically addressed the issue of depression and anxiety in an unselected cross-sectional cohort of outpatient attendees.
