Long-term survival in young adults with colorectal cancer: a population-based study

Forbes SS, Sutradhar R, Paszat LF et al.
The impression that clinicians have of patients getting younger is not just a consequence of the profound impact that young patients with cancer have upon them, it is true: there are an increasing number of patients aged between 20 and 40 years being diagnosed with colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, Forbes et al. investigated the long-term survival of young patients (aged 20–44 years) with CRC who survived for a minimum of 5 years after diagnosis compared with a cancer-free, age-matched population.
