Cellulitis is a common clinical problem that costs the UK National Health Service (NHS) nearly £100 million per year (US $156 million). It is commonly managed by inpatient treatments under the care of general physicians and dermatologists. The authors of this article describe a study from Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (Norwich, UK) of an audit of a pathway for managing lower limb cellulitis involving diagnosis by a dermatologist and the subsequent shared care between primary and secondary care.
