Editor’s note: There have been several reports on the effectiveness of infliximab in the treatment of severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). These authors treated seven patients with severe HS that was resistant to previous systemic and surgical therapies with infliximab (5 mg/kg) at 0, 2, and 6 weeks, and every 8 weeks thereafter, in combination with a weekly dose of methotrexate (7.5 mg). Response to treatment was assessed by measuring the percentage of body surface area (BSA) involved, the amount of discharge, the pain score (using two visual analogue scales ranging 0–4), and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) score.
