Editor’s note: Delusional infestation (DI), previously known as delusional parasitosis, is a psychocutaneous disorder in which affected patients have a fixed, false belief that they are infested with pathogens, such as mites, worms, bacteria, and viruses, and complain of symptoms such as itching, burning, and formication. The authors of this article report three cases of delusional infestation in which the alleged pathogens were inanimate.
