Boerhaave’s syndrome – a spontaneous rupture of the esophagus – is a rare and often catastrophic event, which is usually associated with forceful vomiting. Although not previously described as a causative factor in this syndrome, large ovarian tumors have been associated with symptoms and physical changes that could potentially result in esophageal rupture.
