Circulating endothelial cells are an early predictor in renal cell carcinoma for tumor response to sunitinib.
Gruenwald V, Beutel G, Schuch-Jantsch S et al.
Antiangiogenic therapies are currently considered the standard of care in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Their antitumor activity is mediated by the inhibition of vascular formation and reduction of pre-existing vessels. Imaging techniques are able to show these changes but, unfortunately, are not available in every center and thus there is a need for markers to monitor treatment and disease response.
