Endostatin gene therapy enhances the efficacy of IL-2 in suppressing metastatic renal cell carcinoma in mice.
Rocha FG, Chaves KC, Chammas R et al.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a tumor characterized by a high rate of vascularization and immune response between solid tumors. RCCs secrete various pro-angiogenic substances, such as vascular endothelial and platelet-derived growth factors, which enhance the growth of new vessels and increase the rate of metastasis. Consequently, angiogenesis is the main target for the molecules currently approved for the treatment of metastatic RCC (mRCC).
