Experience with sorafenib and the elderly patient.

Dutcher JP, Tannir N, Bellmunt B et al.
Many patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) are elderly individuals. The median age at first diagnosis of kidney and renal pelvic cancer is approximately 64 years and >25% of newly diagnosed patients are aged >75 years. The incidence of RCC has been rising, and is predicted to continue to increase over the coming decades. Predictive factors for RCC include obesity, hypertension, and smoking habit.
