Imatinib mesylate versus allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia in the accelerated phase.

Jiang Q, Xu LP, Liu DH et al.
There are few comparative studies to help guide treatment in accelerated-phase chronic myeloid leukemia (AP-CML). The main treatment choice is between a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)-based approach such as imatinib versus an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (alloHSCT). The authors designed a cohort study to explore the relative merits of these treatment approaches in a single center based on a 9-year follow-up.
