Editor’s note: The term “malignant multiple sclerosis (MS)” is used to describe disease that progresses so rapidly that the patient requires assistance for ambulation within 5 years from the onset of symptoms. In this study, the authors estimated the incidence of malignant MS and investigated the demographic and clinical characteristics of these patients compared with patients with non-malignant (NM) MS.
