Disease activity return during natalizumab treatment interruption in patients with multiple sclerosis.

O’Connor PW, Goodman A, Kappos L et al.
Editor’s note: Natalizumab is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes the cellular adhesion molecule α4-integrin and is used to treat patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite its superior efficacy, the application of natalizumab is limited because of the possible development of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare but commonly lethal viral infection of the central nervous system.
