The efficacy of natalizumab in patients with multiple sclerosis according to level of disability: results of an observational study.

Fernández O, Alvarenga MP, Guerrero M et al.
Hospital Regional Universitario Carlos Haya, Málaga, Spain.
Editor’s note: In the majority of multiple sclerosis (MS) cases, an initial phase of relapsing and remitting bouts of central nervous system (CNS) inflammation and impairment is followed by a secondary progressive disease phase with continuous exacerbation of impairments. Recent concepts of the pathogenesis of MS generally consider that initial inflammatory demyelination is succeeded by neurodegenerative events and axonal loss.
