Editor’s note: Thalamic deep brain stimulation is considered to be a reversible treatment for severe, medication-unresponsive tremor; however, chronic thalamic stimulation can sometimes induce permanent tremor reduction (PTR). PTR has been suggested to occur in weak corresponding limbs.
