Editor’s note: The pathological processes involved in multiple sclerosis (MS) have been extensively studied; however, this has led to conflicting reports on the time-course for and extent of remyelination seen in MS lesions. Remyelination and other repair mechanisms are known to occur in conjunction with the more destructive pathological processes in MS, including demyelination, axonal loss, and inflammation.
