Editor’s note: The phenomenon of motor neglect is not well understood, but it can be a major hindrance to rehabilitation of patients who have suffered a stroke. The current study explores the possible inhibitory processes that are involved in this abnormal behavior, focusing on a hypothesis that the authors develop that motor planning for limb movements on the affected side may be intruded upon by conflicting motor plans on the opposite, unaffected side.
