Editor’s note: The present article details an interesting case report of a 44-year-old man who developed a transient (resolved over 4 weeks), minimally conscious state in association with perianeurysmal edema of the rostral brainstem (tegmentum of the pons and midbrain) and thalamus after coiling of a giant basilar artery aneurysm.
