Editor’s note: In this study, applanation tonometry was performed in 22 healthy volunteers and 51 consecutive patients with dysthyroid eye disease. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured in both eyes in the primary gaze position and at 20
° of upgaze, and then with the head inclined to produce 20
° upgaze enabling applanation of the central cornea.
