Editor’s note: In this study, the authors retrospectively reviewed 90 cases of periocular basal cell carcinoma, including 23 (26%) involving the medial canthus, treated by surgical excision with 2-mm margins. Clinically poorly demarcated lesions, recurrent tumors, and patients with <36 months follow-up had been excluded. Mohs micrographic surgery was not used. Direct closure was undertaken in 74%.
