Editor’s note: The efficacy of acute use of high-dose intravenous pulse steroid therapy in patients with Stevens–Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) was assessed in this study. Methylprednisolone pulse therapy at 500 or 1000 mg/day for 3–4 days was initiated within 4 days of disease onset in five patients with SJS or TEN with ocular complications. Topically, 0.1% betamethasone was applied five times daily for at least 2 weeks.
