Editor’s note: This study was conducted to assess the outcome of pars plana vitrectomy in patients with chronic hypotony related to uveitis. The study included 15 eyes of nine patients, all female, with a mean age of 15.6 years. Most were suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis or idiopathic chronic anterior uveitis. The surgical procedure included pars plana or limbal lensectomy and vitrectomy with removal of ciliary membranes and traction. Four patients received silicone oil tamponade.
