Editor’s note: These two studies both entail a comparison of the flap-on and flap-off techniques for epithelial laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (epi-LASIK). In the first study, the authors examined patients undergoing wavefront-guided epi-LASIK for myopia [1]. Some patients had the epithelial flap removed and others had it repositioned. A questionnaire was completed postoperatively to evaluate postoperative pain and visual recovery in the first week.
