Editor’s note: In this study, the authors retrospectively reviewed the ocular manifestations in 118 patients (65 female) with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. The mean age at presentation was 35 years (range 15–67 years). Predisposing factors included respiratory tract infection or diarrhea (10%), otitis media or mastoiditis (8%), pregnancy (8%), oral contraceptive use (7%), trauma, hyperlipidemia, and surgery. Overall, 21% presented with purely ocular symptoms, including visual disturbance or double vision, and 31% with ocular and non-ocular symptoms. In addition, 48% of patients had papilledema.
