Global and regional cortical thinning in first-episode psychosis patients: relationships with clinical and cognitive features.
Crespo-Facorro B, Roiz-Santiáñez R, Pérez-Iglesias R et al.
Editor’s note: Studies have consistently shown that patients with first-episode schizophrenia have a reduced cortical thickness in the frontal, temporal, and parietal heteromodal association areas that is independent of age, gender, handedness, and antipsychotic medication. However, the relationship between cortical thickness and neuropsychological function in patients with first-episode schizophrenia is not well established.
