Editor’s note: Metastatic non-small cell lung cancer is the leading cause of death from cancer worldwide. The estimated prognosis following diagnosis is <1 year. The aim of the current study was to examine the effects of introducing palliative care early on, while proceeding with standard oncological interventions. The endpoints included patient-reported outcomes, use of health services, and quality of end-of-life care.
