Will this patient develop persistent disabling low back pain?

Chou R, Shekelle P.
Low back pain is a common presentation in primary care and it is important to assess the likely outcome in terms of persistence of pain and disability as well as the ability to return to work. In this interesting article, based on the scenario of a 48-year-old woman presenting with a 3-day history of low back pain, the authors reviewed the literature relating to symptoms, signs, and risk-prediction instruments that could help in making these long-term outcome assessments.
