Histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors promote binding of transcription factors to nuclear DNA and exhibit anti-inflammatory properties. This small Phase II study evaluated the safety and efficacy of the HDAC inhibitor, givinostat, as a treatment for systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).
