Editor’s note: Screening for systemic sclerosis (SSc)-associated pulmonary hypertension (PH) remains a recommendation of most guidelines; however, the natural history of those identified through screening programs is unknown. This study takes advantage of two simultaneously run data collection programs: the ItinérAIR-Sclérodermie program and the French Network on PH registry. Two incident cohorts of SSc-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients were identified from the two registries: 16 patients with screening-identified PAH and 16 patients with incident PAH. Since both studies were completed in 2002/2003, there were 8 years of follow-up in both groups.
