Editor’s note: Corneal reconstruction is a common surgical procedure for the veterinary ophthalmologist. Several techniques have been described, including conjunctival grafting, corneoconjunctival transposition, corneal transplants, and grafting with biomaterials. Small intestinal submucosa (SIS) is a readily available biomaterial, and has been used relatively extensively in veterinary ophthalmology.
